Despite this game being out for some months now, I'm all about playing this game for hours a week. I will quite literally load up my latest racing series, queue up my personal in-game sound track and race. The downloadable content (DLC) is such that it creates an almost never ending game. I have yet to even enter into the online gaming arena, though I have been told that it adds another whole new dimension to the game and I, frankly, can't wait.
There is, of course, one flaw; achievements. It's a flaw more and more prevailant in todays games. It's like the window-licking half-wits need to be patted on the head for every minute pedantic goal. For example, I bought a car at the start of the game and within 4 races, Ford gave me a Focus RS. Really? I know it's Ford and all, but 4 races somehow cement me as a valuable marketing goat? After completing the 2nd week of the C class racing season, I was awarded a Lotus Exige...which I then used to dominate the next 5 weeks of racing. I didn't even have to upgrade it. Eventually I tossed on larger, lighter rims and new tires and started lapping my opponents.I might chalk up those victories to the easy skill level, but I long ago adjusted my difficulty to total realism...but left the racing line in until I learn the tracks. Be that as it may, and this small complaint, the game is absolutely brilliant. It has excellent graphics and a nearly flawless physics engine along with far too many cars to possibly drive...though saying that, I know there will be those who will be achievement junkies and get every one of them and be rewarded with the 'you have no life' achievement.
So for those who want a racing game that's addicting, fun and challenging...definately ditch that tired old racing franchise and give Forza 3 a chance to suck away all your spare time.
